The Raiders set a new Super Bowl record for both points scored and margin of victory. The big play of the game was Los Angeles RB Marcus Allen's 74-yard touchdown sprint in the third quarter, which broke the record of 58 yards set in Super Bowl III. Allen broke John Riggin's Super Bowl rushing record, gaining 191 yards in 20 carries. The 38-3 win by the Raiders was the most lopsided victory in Super Bowl history.
